Pleat (Muffies) (USA) Empty Too Stiff

Post  archtxt Sat Oct 23, 2010 8:30 am

I tried both the thong pantiliners and the "overnight" pads, which are just a regular pad size for me.

While the patterns and colors are super cute, I found the Pleat pads to be overall too cardboardy stiff, which was not comfy and a bit bulky-feeling. The thong liners are "ok" but they really should be softer and they aren't long enough.

I also found the shape very unforgiving, given the stiffness. For a heavy flow I'd really have liked more width, but the custom wider pad she made me should have been tapered in the middle to minimize chafing.

This seller was friendly but wasn't too great with following up on feedback about her product.

Pleat (Muffies) (USA) Empty cute but thick

Post  Whoopsy Wed Jun 01, 2011 3:36 am

I would rate these a 3

I have the pantyliners. They look cute and are made very nicely too.
the only thing is that for everyday wear they are too thick for me. so, now I use them on light days and then they still are thick, but do their job well Smile

I rate these a 4.

These are the first cloth pads I ever tried, and for a first timer I was very impressed. They come in 3 sizes plus a thong pantyliner and and very pretty too. The overnights are for sure for overnights (for me) they are just under 10inches but for an overnight, they could be a little longer for some people but they have double the absorbency as the day time pad. The overnights are a little bulky which is why I only use them for nights. The daytime or regular flow pad is just over 8 inches long and pretty trim!! It is a perfect size and shape for me and I use it a lot.
Pantyliners are 7 inches long and have the same absorbency level as the regular flow pad minus the PUL. I don't use these as a liner, I use them as a light day pad as they are on the thicker side for just a liner.
These pads are probably most suited to smaller women or those with a lighter flow due to their small sizes.
These pads are all made from flannel and are very comfortable but not as comfy as some of my other brands.
You can get an overnight, regular and liner for $22.50, which to my mind is a very good price.

All in all I really like these pads and would be a good starter set for someone new to cloth pads.

Pleat (Muffies) (USA) Empty so so on craftmanship but good price

Post  camdes Fri May 11, 2012 4:09 pm

I just bought these and when they came out of the wash today, on one of the five regular pads that I bought, one of the inner layers of the pad bunched up and moved around a little so the pad isn't smooth anymore. There's a bump in it. That kind of sucks. The other ones are fine though, it was probably just a manufacturing defect. They're a pretty good price though, I paid like 33$ total with shipping (canadian) for five regular pads. Muffies also have nice patterns, and they are soft.
