Re: Glad Rags (USA)
I absolutely love my Glad Rags. The regular day pads are a pocket style and each pad comes with 2 inserts. I've tried both the organic undyed cotton and the regular color pads. The organic cotton pads are much more absorbent than the color pads, which feel a bit flimsier to me. On a medium day, I could get away with just 1 insert in the organic pad, but I definitely need both inserts in the color pads. Since the organic cotton is a little stiffer (not hard, just more able to keep its shape) I've found the inserts can also be used as panty liners without too much hassle.
Personally, I like pocket pads the best because I often hand wash my pads and always air dry. The pocket & insert style is much easier for me to clean and they dry quicker, so they were a godsend when I was still building my stash and didn't have enough pads to last an entire period.
Glad Rags are readily available at Whole Foods so they are easy to get in a pinch, but they are crazy expensive. I highly recommend purchasing them through Amazon or another online retailer to get a better deal. I do love my Glad Rags and these are the only brand of pads that I've gone back to buy another set, but I would not pay full price. For this reason and the inconsistency between the organic & color pads, I gave them a 4 out of 5.

My Glad Rag is what actually tipped the scales for me to start my cloth pad collection. I had ordered a Lunette cup from Glad Rags and received a card saying that if I give up a few names/address, they'll send me a free day pad. Well, I was curious enough and once I received my free pad, I knew instantly that cloth pads were for me. Because of this, I have "warm feelings" toward the Glad Rags company.
Pros:
If you hand wash or are still building your stash, Glad Rags are great. They have the envelope and insert system, so everything washes and dries easier. Surprisingly, the envelope itself was hard to wash out at first, but a soaking in cold water with Oxi Magic (as I do with all my pads) cleared up anything I couldn't get out by hand. Even though I machine dry, my all-in-one pads still take longer to dry, so again, if you're still building your stash, these work great.
The fabric is a very soft, high quality cotton fleece. I have fleece pads that when hand washed, pilled up and faded a lot. These did not. In fact, I gave them quite a scrubbing and they held up very nicely.
I found that two inserts were fine for a regular to heavy flow. I'm sure one insert would suffice for a lighter to regular flow.
Cons:
Now, I have no idea if the pad I received was in the "imperfect" pile and thus why it was free. The wings are not symmetrical, so this could also contribute to some bulkiness I felt.
If I needed two inserts, it felt very bulky and a bit uncomfortable. I wore this on a heavier day and I had a slight leak right on the edge where one insert was not exactly flushed with the other insert. I think the inserts could be a tad wider to avoid this problem and still fit nicely in the envelope.
Because I really prefer all-in-one pads, I rate these a 3.

Re: Glad Rags (USA)
I have the purple night pad, that I bought because it's purple
I really like the shape of this pad, I find it beautifully soft, but I don't really like the style. It's designed to have a booster that slips into a pocket bit under the wing if you need extra absorbency, and their ones are just a narrow pocket insert, so I would be worried that it wasn't wide enough to catch any leaks. But I made my own PUL backed bamboo booster that fits in the spot but covers almost the same area the pad does, so I don't have to worry about leaks. I prefer to have pads that are all in one piece because they are easier to deal with.
I'm not sure how to rate this really (So I won't do the poll)... because with my booster I think it's a 5/5 because it's a great pad (as far as shape, feel and comfort goes). But without the booster I don't think it would be absorbent enough (it's just cotton terry inside)... unless you had a light flow. And it's designed to be a night pad, so I don't think that it's absorbent enough for a lot of women overnight, and the narrow booster that is supposed to go with it, would not provide enough coverage for a lot of women... so without my "improvement" to it, I'd probably have to rate it maybe a 3 or 4?

I bought a second overnight that had two inserts. I really hate this pad. I've used the inserts in other places. The inserts never sit in the pad right. The always bleed off on the base. I've used just the base before as a liner and it's okay. I've used the liners in other pads or under others. I'd never use this pad the way it's supposed to be. Gladrags are expensive even if you buy seconds. I don't think I'd ever buy a pad from them again. Although the fabric feels so lush.

Re: Glad Rags (USA)
I bought Glad Rags at a drug store while waiting for various etsy pad orders to arrive, and I have to say that I really don't like them. The fabric faded A LOT after just one gentle hand wash, and after washing the fabric was stiff and really worn looking. I haven't had that problem with any other pads. Also, the inserts are so narrow that they don't stay in place well. And of course, the prices are just way too high.
I will say that when I emailed the company to tell them about my issues, they offered to let me trade out my pads for new ones. I didn't take them up on the offer, because I didn't want to waste new pads that I still wouldn't like, but I was impressed by their customer service.
